Cookery books represent and help us to understand the evolving cooking and eating habits of Australians. These books have moved from being individually produced and hand written in the1800 and early 1900s to commercially produced books for companies or publications that contained recipes for particular audiences or events like 'The Depression Cookbook' and 'The Disabled Men's Cookbook'. The title is embossed on the front cover and the owner's signature is inscribed on the front cover. The book consists primarily of breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert recipes. There are several illustrations throughout accompanied by aphorisms.
