Physical Description

Lion figures, pair, press-moulded [stoneware], each lion with thick curly mane depicted in a couchant pose resting on a stepped oval base with head erect and fore-paws extended, hand incised detail and covered in a mottled dark blue and mid blue lead glaze, the unglazed base with recessed cavity.

Dr R.J. Lyons notes that they are possibly the work of members of the Adelaide Potter's Club.
