Summary

Physical Description

The figure, which is identified as an infant Horus or Harpocrates, is in a seated position and is completely naked except for the Double Crown of Egypt on its head. A large object, thought to be the sidelock of youth, is protruding from the side of the Crown. The figure holds its right hand to its chin, with its forefinger and thumb together (artistic convention for depicting children). Its original placement was possibly upon the lap of another figure, his mother Isis.
