Physical Description
Cheque piece/convict token, copper alloy [bronze], Australia, Colony of New South Wales, c 1788. Meduim size disc/ token that gave a convict the authority to draw rations from governmment stores. Disc is blank on reverse, obverse: stamped with and arrow pointing upward/ 363/R" in large deep clearly marked figures. There is a reddish tinge to the surface patina.
