Physical Description

Toy vehicle, handicapped children's "row-car", metal/plastic/rubber, Cyclops Industries Pty Ltd, Australia 1971-1972 Moulded plastic body painted orange. Rectangular in shape with moulded area for seat, low back rest and moulded grooves for legs. There is a slit in the ceter for the steering handle to pass through. The body is mounted on a metal frame painted blue which is mounted on four wheels with painted yellow hubs and solid rubber tyres. The body is screwed to the frame. The vehicle is activated by a 'T' bar which is attached to a lever bar which runs trhough a slit in the body to join the adjustable lower level plate. These plates have three holes and depending on which one the screw is put in the 'T' bar can be adjusted forwards or backwards to suit the driver. The 'T' bar has a central circular hub of blue painted metal with yellow moulded plastic sides. A metal cable runs from it down to the lever bar ending between the front wheels. By pulling down on the hanldes of the 'T' bar the cables cause the front wheels to turn either right or left. Mounted onto the front of the body of the car is a 'T' shaped footrest which can be adjusted by screws to three different leg lengths. The 'T' bar handle has orange plastic hand grips.
