Soap saver, wire, maker unknown, Australia, 1930-1950. A wire soap saver or Reckitts Blue dispenser that has been made from a single strand of wire that has been bent and coiled into shape. The wire has been coiled from the outer side of saver section, into 8 rings of increasing size, before forming a long handle, looped at the end, and bending back on itself to form the coils that make up the other half of the egg shaped saver. The two halves are held closed by a sliding wire loop around the handle. Inside the soap saver is an unused block of Reckitts Blue wrapped in white fabric.
