Door furniture, finger plates (2), glass / metallic transfer prints, possibly made in France, 1900-1910 One finger plate shows two female figures with flowing drapes on an apricot ground, one playing cymblas while the other dances. The other finger plate shows a pair of female figures in flowing drapes on a blue ground with one playing the lyre and one reclining holding a vine.

HISTORY

Notes

The donor believes his grandfather, Frank Grimley, bought the finger plates in France while on a two year world trip in 1905. His wife Amy Grimley, would not let him put the plates on the doors.
