Physical Description
Medallion, trial piece, jasper, Wedgwood, England, c. 1790. Oval shape, in green jasper dip, with five applied grounds in different colours with moulded decoration in white relief. The central diamond shaped ground in yellow with a floral motif is flanked by leaf shaped grounds. The one to the right is in lilac with a classical female figure. The one to the left is in pale blue and decorated with the image of Hygeia. Above and below are two circular grounds bordered by white flowers, the upper in deep blue with Selene in her chariot, the lower in black with a sacrifice.
