Libra Girl sample pack

This is a sample pack of Libra brand products issued to young women around their first period. The sample pack is designed to familiarise young women with different types of pads and tampons and help them determine their preference. Sample packs such as this one are a clever way for brands to expose young women and girls to their products from the very beginning of their period. The packs often include educational booklets offering explanations and advice about menstruation and puberty. Sample packs produced by brands for young women both expose the recipient to a company's products and while positioning the brand as empathic and socially responsible. Attitudes towards menstruation have changed significantly over the course of history. Once perceived to be unclean, shameful and a conversational taboo, periods are increasingly accepted to be an inoffensive and natural part of life. The information provided within this 'Libra Girl' sample pack aims to normalise conversations about periods and menstrual products among young people.
