Look 7, is from London designer Craig Green's Spring-Summer 2017 collection and encapsulates elements of his signature style. Craig Green's designs are influenced by traditional British utilitarian workwear, such as those worn by tradesmen, which he reimagines with new patterns, fabrics and embellishments. He is a notable new designer who presents menswear with a new silhouette as he moves away from straight and skinny to boxy and loose. His Spring-Summer 2017 line carries his signature shapes of the boxy worker's jacket and wide legged pants, but also incorporated Scout scarves, pin stripes, hand printed wood block textiles, hand quilting and deconstructed styles pieced together with cord and eyelets. It is his first line that incorporates multi-coloured patterns, previous lines used block colours, therefore marking a change in his design style and influence. The patterns, colours and scarves take influence from different cultures, such as India and Morocco, and are incorporated with English business styles, such as pinstripes, which are then used to deconstruct workers uniforms creating garments that evoke traditional and contemporary styles. Look 7 is an example of a new and contemporary designer which highlights the changing silhouette of menswear. Craig Green is a designer who has rapidly made his name on an international scale, creating designs which incorporate the past and present as well as intricate hand craftsmanship. Look 7 compliments the historical and contemporary fashion collection held by MAAS and is an example of detailed artistry.

Physical Description
This outfit (Look 7) from Craig Green's Spring-Summer 2017 collection, is comprising a long sleeved jacket and pair of long, wide trousers. The garments are made of Indian woodblock printed cotton, pinstriped wool suitings, that have been diamond quilted. The front is is made from a print inspired by Moroccan bed sheets (blue and white geometric patterns with eight pointed stars in horizontal and vertical lines framed by four blue parallel lines) as well as other geometric framing patterns. Horizontal strips of fabric, in light grey, dark grey and dark blue, embellish the sleeve cuffs and the bottom of the jacket. The back is dark navy, with light grey vertical pinstripes, which is decorated with diamond and horizontal quilting. The shape of the garment is typical of Green's worker style jackets and wide legged pants, however they have been deconstructed and joined together again with cord, eyelets and binding to create a stylised and disjointed shape. This cord and eyelet detailing and deconstruction is on the shoulder of the left jacket sleeve and the outer leg of the left trouser, as well as on the right breast of the jacket and the knee and inner leg of the right trouser. The outfit includes a pair of black plimsolls.

The cotton for this ensemble was woodblock printed in India. The wool suitings were sourced from the United Kingdom. The ensemble was made in London.
HISTORY

Craig Green was born in 1986 in London and completed a Fashion Bachelor at Central Saint Martins in 2010. In 2012 he received his Fashion Masters and released his own name collection at London Collections: Men in June of that year, which received the L'Oreal Professionel Creative Award in 2013. His first solo show was in June of 2014 (SS15) and from then he has released two collections per year. Green's lines are well renowned and stocked by a number of prestigious stores including Dover Street Market, Bergdorf Goodman and Galleries Lafayette and has been displayed in a number of galleries, such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Green has received a number of awards and honours, the most notable in 2016 when we was announced as the winner of the British Menswear Designer at the Fashion Awards. SS17 is Green's fourth collection that he has released under his own label and was presented at London Collections: Men in 2016. His designs, which reimagine traditional styles, have been influential on men's fashion.
