'Blackmagic cinema camera' with accessories by Blackmagic Design

This digital video camera is designed for production of feature films, documentaries and episodic television. It provides cinema quality filmmaking capabilities at a fraction of the cost of existing cinema cameras. The compact design introduces a new form factor to the cinema camera industry, overcoming significant engineering challenges including colour science, optics and thermal management. As recipient of the Australian International Design Award of the Year in 2013 it is an example of excellence in Australian design. The object represents the growth of Blackmagic Design, an Australian company who has been successful in a competitive international marketplace. The company creates high-quality film cameras and post production equipment, at an affordable price for sale in more than 100 countries. Physical Description

Cinema quality digital video or film camera in retail packaging. It consists of a user manual made up of software and a leaflet titled 'Getting Started' in a cardboard wallet, a black power plug, a black switching power supply unit and cable, camera and dust cover and monitor shade. These are contained in a box printed with the product name and information and with protective foam inserts.

This camera was displayed in the 2013 Australian International Design Awards exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum from July 2013 - August 2014. The Blackmagic Cinema Camera received the Australian International Design Award of the Year in 2013. The jury commented: "A truly brilliant piece of design and technology in every regard. This product has significant cultural implications on the global film industry, putting high end filmaking within the reach of the mass-market. A showcase of what professional design can do when used effectively - it will revolutionize the film industry and highlight Australia's capability to design and develop high technology products with global appeal." * * Australian International Design Awards (AIDA) Yearbook 2013 The camera also received a Red Dot 'Best of the Best' Award in 2013.
