New Years card from Laszlo and Sibyl Moholy-Nagy to Dahl and Geoffrey Collings
Object No. 2007/30/1-29/5
This is one of a series of Christmas and New Year's cards sent to Dahl and Geoffrey Collings by family, friends and colleagues - some of whom, like Laszlo Moholy-Nagy and Gyorgy Kepes, were European migrant modernist artists with whom they worked in the graphic design industry. Correspondence of this nature demonstrates the close relationships that Dahl and Geoffrey Collings forged and maintained with these individuals throughout their careers. This particular card, featuring one of Moholy Nagy's photograms, was received while the Collingses were still living in London, but Moholy-Nagy had migrated to the United States to become Director of the New Bauhaus in Chicago.
