Document, poem entitled 'The Maunganui Duff' by Herbert Spencer Rutherford, paper/ink, Stuart Barton Babbage, Auckland, New Zealand, 1916 One page typed document containing a poem by Herbert Spencer Rutherford entitled 'The Maunganui Duff'. The heading is in red ink, the body of the poem is in purple ink, and it is signed 'H.S.R.' The poem has been pasted onto page 12 of the scrapbook. During World War 1 Herbert Spencer Rutherford embarked from Wellington, New Zealand with the 9th Reinforcements Wellington Infantry Battalion of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force aboard the 'Maunganui'. He served with the Wellington Infantry Regiment, 2 Battalion but he died of wounds in Belgium on 31 July 1917.
