Physical Description

Catalogue page, page IV of 'Supplements to Catalogue of 1899', Wunderlich Limited, Redfern, New South Wales, Australia, July 1900 Page IV of 'Supplements to Catalogue' to the 'Illustrated Catalogue (edition 1899) of Wunderlich's Patent Embossed Metal Ceilings, (Zinc or Steel), and every kind of Embossed Metal Ornaments for Architectural Purposes'. The page is entitled 'Interior Views of the Factory. Finishing Room' and contains a halftone photograph with the following caption: 'In this department the embossed parts from the stamping room are built up and prepared for erection on buildings as ceilings, wall linings, roofs, turrets, parapets, statuary, etc., etc. This work is carried out by 30 to 40 bench hands, mostly skilled metal workers, trained in carrying out architectural plans and details, and in dealing with the endless variety of work we are called up to execute. From the foreman's office, placed in the centre of the buildings, the foreman can see any part of the different shops and thus supervise every detail of the work. From here the finished goods are sent to our customers, either by our carriers, or in the case of country and intercolonial orders, delivered in cases on truck or ship.'
