Page III of 'Supplements to Catalogue' to the 'Illustrated Catalogue (edition 1899) of Wunderlich's Patent Embossed Metal Ceilings, (Zinc or Steel), and every kind of Embossed Metal Ornaments for Architectural Purposes'. The page is entitled 'Interior Views of the Factory. Stamping Room and Die Foundry' and contains a halftone photograph with the following caption: 'The plaster models, received from the modellers' shop, are here cast into metal dies of varying degrees of hardness, according to the class of work to be produced, and from these again the matrices are made. After die and matrix have been fixed to the stamping machinery, plain sheets of zinc, steel, copper, or other metal, previously annealed in our ovens and brought to their highest degree of malleability, are placed between die and matrix and stamped with our powerful drop hammers, driven by a 30-h.p. steam engine, till the design is brought out with perfect definition, much the same as is done on a small scale when a monogram is impressed on a piece of note-paper.'
