PRODUCTION

Notes

Some of Bruno Benini's earliest fashion photographs were shot in Italy in 1958 when Benini photographed Italian model Carla Baldaracchi and Australian model Janice Wakely in modern summer frocks by Ninette of Melbourne and garments by Sportscraft and Crestknit. Benini places the models in various locations, including alongside the Trevi fountain, with the fountains of the Villa d'Este hillside garden in Tivoli, and above the orchestra pit of an elaborate operatic stage set inside the ancient Roman thermal Baths of Caracalla (built between AD 212 and 217).
