Leaflet, 'Build your Garage with Wunderlich Durabestos Building Sheets', Wunderlich Limited, Redfern, New South Wales, Australia, 15 April 1929

Leaflet advertising Wunderlich's Durabestos asbestos-cement sheeting for garage construction. The leaflet features black and white illustrations of a tradesman nailing the sheeting to the timber frame and two completed garages. There are also elevation drawings, a floor plan, and a drawing showing how to nail the sheet to timber. Wunderlich listed the publication as D21.

Wunderlich Limited

The inner city suburb of Redfern is named after William Redfern, a pioneering doctor who came to Australia as a convict in 1801.  He was granted 100 acres in the area of the present suburb of Redfern and built a large home surrounded by gardens.  Sydney's original railway terminus was built in the Cleveland Paddocks and was named after William Redfern.  It was built of iron and in 1874 was replaced by a brick and stone structure, covering two platforms.  The station was the focal point for the Sydney tramway network and was located midway between the present Central and Redfern Stations.  At that time the present Redfern station was known as Eveleigh.  Central Railway Station was opened in 1906 and, as its name suggests, it became the central railway for Sydney city.  The original Redfern Station was closed and the name of Eveleigh Station was changed to Redfern Station.
