Catalogue, 'The Wunderlich Manufactures 1906 Edition Catalogue - Section 1 Steel Manufactures', Wunderlich Limited, Redfern, New South Wales, Australia, 1 February 1906

Catalogue which provides detailed information about Wunderlich's steel metal designs including design numbers and dimensions. The catalogue is illustrated throughout with halftone photographs showing decorative elements, and many of the designs also feature section drawings. The catalogue was printed for Wunderlich by the Sydney printer, W.E. Smith.

Sydney based company formed in 1885 and taken over in 1969 by CSR.

Wunderlich Limited

The inner city suburb of Redfern is named after William Redfern, a pioneering doctor who came to Australia as a convict in 1801.  He was granted 100 acres in the area of the present suburb of Redfern and built a large home surrounded by gardens.  Sydney's original railway terminus was built in the Cleveland Paddocks and was named after William Redfern.  It was built of iron and in 1874 was replaced by a brick and stone structure, covering two platforms.  The station was the focal point for the Sydney tramway network and was located midway between the present Central and Redfern Stations.  At that time the present Redfern station was known as Eveleigh.  Central Railway Station was opened in 1906 and, as its name suggests, it became the central railway for Sydney city.  The original Redfern Station was closed and the name of Eveleigh Station was changed to Redfern Station.
