Glass negative, quarter plate, Eric Sheldon in his office, Tom Lennon, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 12 November 1932 Eric J. Sheldon was a drummer, dance band leader and editor of the monthly industry magazine, "The Australian Music Maker and Dance Band News", 1932-36. In this photo he is seated at a desk on which is a telephone, ink well, pen holder, calendar and a book labelled "DANCE BAND NEWS". Tom Lennon was the official photographer for the magazine. On the shelf behind Eric Sheldon is a portrait of his girlfriend, the singer Anita Sumae, who sang with Sheldon's band. The pair were married at St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney, New South Wales, on 5 September 1935. The offices of the "The Australian Music Maker and Dance Band News" were located on the Fourth floor, State Theatre Building, Market Street, Sydney, New South Wales.
