Lithograph, framed, Aurora Australis, glass / paper / wood / metal, made by R Shepherd Geological Survey Victoria, Victoria, Australia, 1889, used by Sydney Observatory, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 1889-1930. A colour lithograph depicting the Aurora Australis as it was seen on 21st September 1889. The print is in a rectangular wooden frame. The glass in the front of the frame has cracked and a section of the glass is missing. There are two metal rings attached to the back of the frame and a length of sting attached to one of the rings.
