Large painted advertising sign designed by Rousel Studios to advertise Botany "Seagull" Swimming Suits. The sign is located within a Sydney department store and shows beach scenes with women and children wearing swimsuits and seagulls flying in the background.

Sydney signwriting and graphic art business mainly known as Rousel Studios, but which also traded at various times as Henry Rousel, Rousel & Co, Henry Rousel Studios, Rousel Signs Pty Ltd, and Rousel Screen Printing Pty Ltd. The business was begun by Julius Henry Rousel (1865-1929) in 1890 and for most of its existence was located at 38 - 42 Oxford St, East Sydney. After Henry Rousel's death in 1929 the business was conducted by his two sons, Roy (Jules Henry Roy) (1897 - 1986), and Harold (1899 -). In 1974 the family sold the signwriting side of the business, although it continued to trade as Rousel Signs Pty Ltd until 1993. Rousel Screen Printing Pty Ltd remained active until 2002 but was deregistered in 2005.
