Photographic print, Tahiti eclipse expedition, paper, used by James Short, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 1908 Black and white photograph mounted on stiff cardboard taken during the Tahiti eclipse expedition in 1908. A group of people are standing on the lawn at the front of a wooden house with verandah. To the left are some wooden boxes and equipment and a tripod with camera. Two women and two men dressed in white are standing near the boxes, with two tents behind them, other people are standing and sitting on the verandah. Two palm trees are visible in the background. Caption on verso reads 'View showing spectrograph Coelostat camera etc'.
