'Razor Jr Scuttlebug' tricycle

Object No. 2006/158/1

The Razor Jr Scuttlebug is an appealing foldaway ride-on trike designed for use by children up to the age of three. It folds flat for easy transportation and storage. The rollerblade style wheels allow for a smooth and quiet ride both indoors and outdoors. A key feature of the product is its appeal when in the folded position - it resembles a bug. When folded the handle bar doubles as a carry handle. The Scuttlebug is an evolution of the internationally successful Razor Scooter launched in 1999. It represents the success of Australian product design in a competitive international market. The Scuttlebug was designed by Melbourne-based design firm Ideation Design, and made in China for Funtastic Ltd, Australia's largest toy distributor. It received an Australian Design Mark and Powerhouse Museum Selection in 2006.
