Drink can, 'Castle Lager', aluminium / rubber, can end designed by Mike Debenham and BHP Co Ltd, Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, can made by [The South African Breweries Ltd, Johannesburg, South Africa], 1973-1991 Beer can decorated with red and gold design on outer surface. The name of the beer is at the centre on a scroll. A red castle against a gold shield shape is above as is the text 'GREAT SOUTH AFRICA BEER'. Below the scroll is the company's logo and wording in Africaan. The opposite side has the wording above the scroll and the English text above. Information about the manufacturer and the can's contents are printed between the graphics. The can's top end has the 'Presto' system of can opening.
