Physical Description
A silver medal in the style of a wreath with banners where text is engraved. At the centre of the medal is a shield-like shape that is engraved with two people swimming. On the back of the medal is engraved the details of the race and the name of the second prize winner. The name of the maker of the medal is stamped below. At the top of the medal is a hoop for hanging.

Bernard Bede (Barney) Kieran (1886-1906) was an Australian champion swimmer. This medal was won by Kieran for second place in the NSW Amateur Swimming Association's 440 yards championships at Balmain pool.
