Coin, one sovereign, Queen Victoria, gold, made by Sydney Mint, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 1855 Gold sovereign type 1. On the obverse is a portrait head of Queen Victoria facing left, raised border and raised lettering around the edge reading 'Victoria D:G: Britanniar: Regina F:D. 1855'. On the reverse is a wreath with crown at the top, 'Australia' in raised lettering at the centre and the words 'Sydney Mint one sovereign'.
