Black and white television camera made by Fernseh AG

Sydney's TCN-9 used this type of German-made Fernseh KOA 75 black and white camera for many years from the beginning of television transmission in Australia in 1956 at their Willoughby studios and for outside broadcasts. It is equipped with a 3-inch orthicon pick-up tube. Nine donated this one to the Museum after colour transmission commenced.

Physical Description
The group of objects consist of a televsion camera, a separate Fernsch black and white television control unit, a tripod stand for the camera with extending wooden legs, a separate view finder hood of metal painted grey with a black rubber face protector. There are also two separate tripod heads, one of which is a tilt head which is in two parts and a separate base plate. There is a valve, a Plumbicon television camera pick up tube.
