Physical Description
Miniature horse consisting of a steel wire frame, covered with cement and painted plaster, with a cushion stomach and horse hair tail covered in plaster. The body is covered in a red velvet blanket trimmed in gold braid. The armour (bard) consists of interlocking steel plates which cover the head and neck, (chanfron and crinet), 2 brass hinged steel plates covering the breast (peytral) and brass hinged steel plates also rivetted together covering the hindquarters (crupper). The steel saddle is lined in leather with steel stirrups affixed underneath by leather straps. Leather reins are protected by decorated brass plates, hinged together. The crest piece of the crupper, peytral and crupper all feature repeated decorative fluting. The horse stands on a wooden plinth.
