Six octave compass (F' to f4); grasshopper action; 10 single wound strings, 10 bichord, remainder uncovered bichord, all held at one end by tuning pins with rectangular heads and individually hitched at the other; bass strings cross the treble strings to enable greater length, an advanced feature for the period. Felt covered hammers. Mahogany case with rosewood veneer on nameboard
