Flute, 7 keyed, boxwood, ivory & brass, Andrew Ellard, Dublin, 1822-1845. Seven keyed flute made of boxwood or fruitwood in five sections (headjoint with stopper, barrel joint, upper joint, lower joint, foot joint) with ivory mounts and tuning slide. Salt-spoon shaped brass keys. Headjoint lined with brass sleeve.

Andrew Ellard is of particular interest in the Australian context as he was the father of Francis Ellard one of the countries earliest musical instrument retailers who arrived in Sydney in 1832 and died in 1854.
