Upright pianoforte, timber, metal & ivory, Charles Cadby, London, c.1860-1865. Compass 85 notes; sticker action; overdamper; strung straight to floor with 6 single wound notes, 10 wound bichord and remainder trichord, held by tuning pins with rectangular heads and modern hitching; two wooden pedals: sustain and una corda; both natural and accidental keys have rounded fronts. Elaborate casework featuring central mirror bordered on each side by cloth panel and elaborate carving and moulding. Heavily figured walnut veneer on pine frame. Heavily carved "S" shaped legs.
