Upright pianoforte, timber, metal & ivory, Searle, London, England, 1834. Compass six octaves (FF-f''''); straight strung; bichord throughout with 13 lowest bass notes covered; unusal stringing with pairs of strings hitched on a common bar which in turn is embedded in the frame; modified sticker action so hammers are not far above level of keys; hammers light and felt-covered; moulded keyfronts. Cedar case veneered in mahogany.
