Physical Description

Box, for filar telescope micrometer, wood / metal, made by E Esdaile, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 1940-1950. A stained wooden storage box for the telescope filar micrometer. There is a hinged door with a brass lock plate in the front of the box. A rope handle is attached to two metal fittings on the top of the box. The inside of the box is fitted with timber runners for two drawers. The door has two circular recesses on the interior to accommodate the drawer handles when the door is closed.
