Model, travelling jib crane with steam engine and boiler, metal / wood, maker unknown, [England or Australia], c 1900. The model features a timber-lagged vertical boiler with water gauge and water cock, a twin cylinder steam engine driving a winch, and a timber jib with rope and metal hook. The boiler, engine and jib are mounted on a platform which can rotate. Beneath this, another platform supports the structure on four flanged railway wheels. Thus the crane can travel, swivel and hoist a load.The model is finished in black, green and polished brightwork.
