Physical Description
Tiles (pair), earthenware, maker unknown, Damascus, Syria, 1550-1600 Pair of Islamic earthenware tiles including a square buff tile and rectangular tile. Both feature one glazed side with a floral geometric lattice design in blue, turquoise and aubergine against a cream background. Both undersides are coarse and unglazed and there is chipping along the edges.
