Summary

Physical Description

Soft paste white porcelain figurine of a standing bearded male (Mars) wearing plumed pink and purple painted helmet, a long yellow cape falling from his right shoulder. A yellow cuirass with painted brown scale pattern, a knee length green tunic with yellow thongs edged red. His right hand is akimbo, the left is grasping his sword hilt. He wears open Roman-style sandals. The figure is set on a low, circular white base decorated with rocailles picked out in green and purple and supported to the left by a shield and to the right by a yellow edged purple banner. The whole figure is painted with polychrome enamel details with gilt highlighting. The base has three pad marks and two filled firing cracks, the sword is similarily repainted.
