Physical Description
Hexagonal copper vase, repousse designs of eucalyptus nuts, flowers and leaves towards the base. Two flat ring handles free swinging bracketed to sides with rivets. No marks.

This vase was purchased by early museum Curator, Richard Baker when he visited Adelaide to lecture at the Arts and Crafts Society. He gave two lectures titled 'Australian Flora in Applied Art' and 'Our Natural Heritage, the Gum Tree'. The Australian artist, Hans Heyson, famous for painting gum trees was in the audience in July 1910. Baker was a passionate advocate for the use of Australia flora and fauna in art and craft.
