Physical Description

Kangaroo, pull-along toy, wood/metal, maker unknown, Australia, 1930-1960. Wooden pull-along toy with a kangaroo mounted on a green painted platform with four red wheels and metal hub-caps. It has a fixed carved head with a brown joey's head peeping out from a pouch. The legs and tail are articulated. They move via a rod attached to the rear axle of the platform, while the arms move freely. When pulled, the kangaroo moves up and down as if it is hopping. The kangaroo is painted brown with a yellow stomach and the face has traces of yellow and pink paint. There are no features left on the face. The ears are pink on the underside and brown on top.
