Physical Description

Cardboard bound scrapbook, stapled, colour printed cover, over which three orange paper "Mi-Sex" stickers are adhered. Contains handbills pasted to each page of the scrapbook. The handbills are mostly from the Civic Hotel, a popular Pitt St rock music venue, in 1978-1979. Other handbills include those from the Kings Cross Rex, Royal Antler Hotel and the General Bourke Hotel. Each handbill lists the bands playing in that week. The first handbill is dated 29 May-3 June (1978), the last handbill for the Civic Hotel series is dated 12 -17 March (1979). Among the regular bands are Cold Chisel, Mi-Sex, Midnight Oil, Flowers and the Sports. Handwritten inscription in black pen on the inside front cover from Debbie Baer to Bob Yates. Contained in back of scrapbook: Handbill and invoice, stapled together. Handbill advertises performance of Outline and Voices at the Civic Hotel, Tuesday July 7. The attached invoice is from Snap printing for printing a quantity of 4000 leaflets.

Bob Yates ran the music venue at the Civic Hotel in 1978-1979. The handbills that appear in this scrapbook were produced by Bob Yates to promote performances by rock bands at the Civic Hotel.
