Book, Christmas Greetings, William Harrison, paper/silk, Britain/Australia, 1896. Book made from five heavy cards tied together with thin, royal blue silk thread. Cover has inscription : To Kathleen and Maggie Xmas Greeting from Uncle Will 1896. The following cards have an illustration and a verse from the poem 'How doth the little busy bee/Improve each shining hour'. The theme of the illustrations is the bee, beehives and honey. The last two illustrations focus around industry and include an anvil, sewing machine, spade and paints.

Notes
William Harrison (1864-1923) designed and executed the illustrations and text. He was the Art Director and later Advertising Manager at Wunderlich, Sydney. William Harrison was born in 1864 and arrived in Australia as a young man. He married in 1904. He began work in Collins Street Melbourne with the furniture company Rocke. This company had links with Wunderlich and he was transferred to Sydney some time before 1904. He spent his subsequent working life at Wunderlich, dying at the age of 59 in 1923. This book was made by William Harrison for his nieces Kathleen and Maggie Harrison.

Given by William Harrison to his nieces Maggie and Kathleen who lived in Bath, England. The donor is the daughter of William Harrison, Helena Morrison of Camberwell Victoria.
