Physical Description

Jacket, wool, Bill Gibb, England, c.1974. Jacket made of machine knitted wool. Long sleeves with wide cuff. Peaked hood with multicoloured wool tassel attached to peak. Wide band around hood and down centre front opening. Two patch pockets at hip level on both fronts. Two thin black knitted belt loops at waist side seams. Knitted in multicoloured abstract design with purple zig zags on black ground on the band around the hood and cuffs. Tie belt of wool in same multicoloured design, tassels are attached to both end of belt.

Bill Gibb in an English designer well known for his extravagant evening and knitwear designs. The jacket is a good example of his complex knit patterns complemented here by the simple styling of the jacket.
