Upright piano, transposing keyboard, wood, George Russell & Co, London, 1880-1910. Upright piano with transposing keyboard. Mahogany case with iron frame. Lever at front underneath keyboard shifts entire keyboard left or right over the range of a third (A A# B C C# D). Range of keyboard is seven octaves from AAA to a4.

Uses the patent Simplex transposing keyboard No:8234 Made by George Russell & Co., London. This company was established in 1842. Presumed to be from the period 1880-1910. Serial number not found in sources.

Bought by donor's grandmother second hand. Used by the family for learning and playing piano.
