Archive, pottery manufacture, Martin Boyd Pottery, Sydney, Australia, 1948-1957 Pottery set up by Guy Boyd and Norma Flegg and later run in partnership with Leonard Flegg and (when Guy Boyd left in 1951) Ronald Flegg. Registered under the business name ' Martin Boyd Pottery' in 1948, the Pottery moved from its original premises in Cremorne to Princes Street, Ryde in 1949. Using techniques such as wheel throwing, jigger jolleying, moulds and slipcasting, the Pottery supplied innovative domestic ceramics to businesses and private customers in all states and territories of Australia as well as New Guinea and New Zealand.
