HISTORY
Notes
This suit was worn by Cosmonaut Oleg Makarov during the Soyuz 27 mission to the Salyut 6 Space Station. It was worn by Makarov as his everyday wear during his 5 day stay on Salyut 6. Makarov was flight engineer on the Soyuz 27, with Vladimir Dzanibekhov as commander. The flight was launched 10 January 1978 and returned to Earth on 16 January. It became the first mission to participate in a triple docking (Salyut 6/Soyuz 26/Soyuz 27) and the crew became the first to 'visit' another crew on a space station. The Soyuz 27 crew resupplied the long term crew on Salyut 6 and also conducted additional scientific experiments during their stay on the space station.
