Physical Description

Costume made of blue and white checked lycra gingham and comprising full bodysuit, mask, bra top, mini skirt, clogs, and handbag. The full bodysuit includes gloves and stockings and has holes cut in face mask for the eyes and the mouth, it has a centre back zipper fastening. The bustier type bra top has padded cups and a stretch back strap. The mini skirt is a wrap around box pleated skirt with velcro fastening at the waist. The mask is made of moulded plastic/latex? for the face, with holes cut for eyes, nose and mouth, attached to this is a cut out hair-do made of thick cardboard, the whole is covered in the gingham fabric and is secured to the head by way of a thick elastic strap at the back. The outfit is accessorised with a fake covered cardboard handbag covered in the same fabric, as are a pair of platform clogs with white laces and a long plastic cigarette holder. Accompanying the costume are two design sketches of the costume in pencil on white paper and a home made envelope with a silver sticker for fastening. There are also four colour postcards, two of 'Gingham Woman' reclining on the hood of a car and two of her at the breakfast table.
