Vase, 'silicon' stoneware, decorated by Rosetta Hazeldine and Edith Lupton, Doulton and Co., Lambeth, London, England, 1882 Vase, tall narrow body with flaring rim and splayed foot, scalloped rim and neck perforated with chevrons and floral scrolls, brown, body has a brown ground with blue slip painted flowers and foliage, three perforated panels in three shades of brown and carved with floral and foliage scrolls, panels enclosed by bands of light clay and joined by Chinese panel design, base brown and incised with leaf shapes (OF). Doulton 'silicon' stoneware vase, carved and perforated decoration, washes of white and dark brown clay, pate sur pate design of flowers in blue, 16 1/4" x 5 1/2", pate sur pate by Edith D. Lupton, carving probably by A.Beere, 1882; 3 panels; damaged (LC).
