Condoms, packet of three, 'Checker', latex rubber/cardboard/paper, The Ansell Rubber Co Pty Ltd, Australia, [1955] Red, green and white cardboard envelope with flip-open front (like match book), containing three latex condoms, each in blue paper wrapper. Wording on outer envelope is : "Pure Latex/ Checker* Three's/ Prophylactic/ *For prevention of disease only".

The Ansell Rubber Co. Pty Ltd; Australia, Victoria, Richmond Representatives of Ansell estimate that this style of packaging dates from the 1950s to the early 1960s. A long-time employee recalls that the packaging changed in 1965 (Information passed on by Allen Hall, Ansell).
HISTORY
Notes
The package was found by a Mr Phippard around 1991 amongst old stock in his pharmacy in Tenterfield, NSW. It was given to Mr Allan Hall at Ansell, who donated it to the Powerhouse.
