A pencil sketch of Richard Trevithick's railway locomotive 'Catch Me Who Can'. The drawing shows a side view of the steam locomotive engine which has a barrel like body supported on spoked wheels. In the drawing smoke can be seen exiting the chimney at the front of the engine.

Notes

Richard Trevithick's railway locomotive 'Catch Me Who Can' was developed in 1808 and was run on a circular track in Euston Square, London. This drawing appears to have been copied from the illustration printed on the tickets, which were issued for rides on the locomotive in 1808.
