Saucepan with lid designed by Gordon Andrews
Object No. 91/2068
Andrews' first real opportunity to demonstrate his versatility as a designer came when he was employed as a consultant to David Jones department store in Sydney for whom he designed a set of three saucepans produced by Rex Aluminium Co Pty Ltd. The main feature was the handle grip, which "required only a simple twist of the wrist for easy pouring. Another useful feature was the high lid which gave the saucepan added volume". Gordon Andrews 1989 This particular saucepan was owned and used by Andrews close professional colleagues, Dahl and Geoffrey Collings, who gifted it to the Museum in 1991.
