Photographic print, black & white, advertising signs for David Jones advertising Royal Worcester & Bon Ton Foundation Garments, The 'Castlereagh' Felt Hat, and Orient Silk Hose, designed by Rousel Studios, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, c 1925 Three advertising signs designed by Rousel Studios placed side-by-side on the scaffolding at a building site which advertise products available at the Sydney department store, David Jones. The sign on the left reads, "New styles for the new times/Royal Worcester/& Bon Ton Foundation Garments/only at DAVID JONES". On the left hand side of the sign is a picture of two women wearing foundation garments, one holding a large feather fan in front of her body. The middle sign reads, "DAVID JONES/Sydney's Outstanding Hat Value/The 'Castlereagh'". To the right of this main text it reads, "Pure Fur Felt/21/-". On the far right hand side there is a side-on picture of a man wearing suit, shirt and tie as well as a white hat with a dark band. The sign on the right hand side reads, "ORIENT SILK HOSE at 6/11 /made on a "Pigeon" machine/only at DAVID JONES". On the right hand side of the sign there is a picture of a young woman adjusting her stockings while seated. Same image as 2002/105/1-2/6.
